The Fishing Report
(Updated 11-11-11)

The fall steelhead fishing has been great this year.  With timely rains, the conditions have been
right for the most part for the last few weeks.  There are good numbers this year and there have
been some bigger fish around too.  I have seen fish from 1lb on up to 15lbs or better.  Globug and
nuke eggs
in all colors have been working.  Fly size and tippet sizes vary with the changing
conditions.  Those that are willing to swing some big flies have had some luck as well.  With the
high water we have now and winter just around the corner this year, it looks like we will have good
numbers of fish to play with this winter!  Next spring will be another great steelhead season as well!

The Browns are out and doing their thing on the gravels as well as a couple of remaining Coho.
The trout bite has been there with fish coming in on the egg and a couple on streamers as well,
both swung and stripped.  The Browns are really neat looking this time of the year all decked out in
their spawning colors.

Fishing has been going so well, I thought I would try a little bit of "Hillbilly Handfishing" northern
Michigan style.  Come up and give it a try and get your "hero" shot with some quality "off duty"
guides!
